Check out Off beaten 23 things to do To some Ko Samui would mean nothing but to a seasoned traveler it’s a place of excellent beauty next to the sea. The place is located at the east coast of Kra isthmus in Thailand. People of all nationality visit the place for relaxing and to break the pace of life. This holiday makers’ destination is most in demand. The place was discovered three decades back and it the third largest island of the nation. What most tourists want to know is when to visit Ko Samui? Season and tourists We had to decide our trip in such a way that crowds did not make us feel cramped for place and at the same time the season was comfortable to be outdoors. We found out that the place two weathers sunny and rainy. Off months were the rainy months from July till November. Hotel food discount was applicable in off months. We decided to be at Ko samui in September as the discount could be availed and the monsoon was not torrential. The rain in this month was unpredictable and swift lasting a little while and followed by the sunny day. The temperature after rain was tolerable. Some rain puddles and palm water drops glistering in sun. The scene following rain was alluring. So we had a fairly good answer to when to visit Ko Samui? July and August is peak season as European school proceeding on leave and many families visit the island. It is best time to visit Ko Samui. Flights are full and so are the hotels with advance bookings. Room rents are expensive and sun beds on beaches are in short supply. We felt sad that we could not make it to the Thai New Year or Songkran as it is commonly called. It’s a national event and falls on 13th April. Ko Samui celebrates it for a day. When to visit Ko Samui answer is different for different tourists. Expectations from the island There are a lot of bamboo huts for living and add charm to the surroundings. Our friends described the place as a den of white sand beaches, mesmerizing nature not spoilt by man, the best hot and cold meal of different nationalities, accommodation of different categories to suit every pocket, sea facing rooms, spa therapy to recoup lost health, and water sports. The night life after sunset had bars and dance floor occupied till early hours of morning. Shopping connected with water sports, local shopping arcade now equipped with imported goods adds to the fun. Some tourists laze around for months while others spend a weekend as a break from routine. Once at Ko samui we enjoyed all of this and felt rejuvenated. The culture of village We undertook trip to Bophut Beach to enjoy the fisherman’s village of the land. It was north of Samui. We were told not the venture into swimming as the place as innumerable boats on tour and diving boats that makes it a risky proposition. We were surprised to find a lot of restaurants with good preparation around the place. We talked to locals and they talked how fishing industry is run; how fish is caught and reaches our homes. Online trip planner such as TripHobo enlightened us on planning our day to derive maximum benefit of our stay. It really helped in making our trip a memorable one. Best time to visit Ko Samui was also conveyed through the website.
